Skeletal Light

Flashes escape from clouds above Branching like skeletal limbs on a long-dead tree Reaching, grasping, aching for space Deafening drums assault the night Purple and burgundy paint the sky, Broken again by the twists and turns of light

The Storm’s Song

Night stormsilluminatedby burstsof light. Pounding thunderlike a harsh bass chordslams the keysdemanding an audience. Rainbows deniedtheir gloryhidden in thedark. Storms whispertheir departure, crickets singto welcomethe calm. Raindrops hang, then fall, from leavesa staccato arpeggio. A distant flashreminds usof ourstrength.
